The Youth Leaders' Camp relies on school officials for selecting the best qualified students (boys and girls) ages 12-15 from the public parochial, and private schools within the Washington Metropolitan area. A school principal, guidance counselor, or teacher must nominate a student based on the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated Potential Leadership Qualities
  • Demonstrated an Awareness of the Responsibilities of Good Citizenship
  • Be of Sound Moral Character
  • Be in Good Academic Standing

It's important to note the program is geared toward students who are above average in the qualities set forth in the above criteria. The program is not designed for those who do not possess these qualities, as it would deny other campers the opportunity to undergo experiences that meet their needs.

"Programs such as the Youth Leader's Camp [are] a necessity in complementing the values and morals that we parents instill in our children."
